  • PRESS RELEASE

The Business Travel Show Dubai was officially opened this morning by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, as eager professional visitors waited to enter the show and learn the secrets to managing cost effective business travel.

Now an annual event, Business Travel Show Dubai will take place over two days at Madinat Jumeirah Arena, showcasing the best deals, providing top tips on future travel trends and offering a not-to-be-missed educational conference.

"Business Travel Show Dubai is simply an unmissable event for anyone associated with buying, selling or managing business travel across the Middle East and this is evident by the tremendous turn out we have received on the first morning of the show," remarked Sally Maltby, Event Director for show organisers Centaur Exhibitions.

Over the next two days the Business Travel Show Dubai will provide a one-stop-shop for buyers and arrangers of business travel, offering a free Exhibition, free Keynote Presentations and a comprehensive Educational Conference.

In addition, this year's show will feature the inaugural Innovation Award. This award is designed to recognise innovation, ingenuity and true leadership in the business travel industry. Votes have been cast via the Business Travel Show Dubai website and the winner will be announced on the first evening of the show.

What's more, all delegates attending the two-day event will be entered into a free Prize Draw to win some fabulous getaways, courtesy of show founding partner, British Airways. Attendance to the exhibition is free and on each day of the show one lucky visitors will win a pair of Club World business-class tickets to London with British Airways and a two-night hotel stay in a deluxe four-star hotel in central London.

Central to the event will be a comprehensive Educational Conference, offering keynote speeches and interactive discussion panels, some of which are free of charge to attend.

The programme, being delivered in association with ACTE (Association of Corporate Travel Executives), will provide information on traveller safety and duty of care, sourcing the best price in the shortest time, what does a good TMC/buyer relationship look like?, and mandating a travel policy.

The Educational Conference will also take a closer look at the results of the pre-show survey, conducted by YouGovSiraj this summer. The findings will be presented by Jane Wilson, Director of Travel & Tourism Research at YouGovSiraj, who carried out the initial survey and analysis.

The Business Travel Show Dubai exhibition is showcasing airline and hotel groups, travel management companies, providers of car rental, private jet hire, chauffeur drive, corporate credit cards and more. Exhibitions include Alshamel, Better Homes, British Airways, Emaar, Emirates Hotels and Resorts, Jumeirah, Kanoo, Qatar Airways and Rotana to name a few.

Business Travel Show Dubai is part of the global Business Travel Shows portfolio, which also includes exhibitions in the UK and Germany. The Business Travel Shows are the only events in the industry that are specifically aimed at buyers and bookers of business travel.

The Business Travel Show Dubai is a joint venture between Centaur Media Plc and Dnata World of Events and takes place at the Madinat Jumeriah Arena on October 20-21, 2008.
