From an initial pool of 345 applicants, some 77 candidates made it all the way to the final interview of the rigorous evaluation process.

"It has been a very challenging process not just for the applicants for the evaluators as well because of the enthusiasm and strong potential of majority of the candidates. With such a meticulous evaluation process, we are confident of gathering only the best of breed to join the first ever batch of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Sports Leadership Development. I am also grateful to all who contributed in conducting the whole evaluation process, particularly the panellists for the final interviews who have a huge responsibility of selecting the finest from within a very promising pool of candidates,"

said Adel Al Shared, Director of HBMPSLD.

"The response that this project has received from the public is highly remarkable and shows that there is a sizeable sports-oriented manpower reserve that is waiting to be harnessed. It will be a tough call for us to decide on the final members of the inaugural season of HBMPSLD, but we are fully prepared for the task. Regardless of the outcome, I congratulate all the applicants for taking part in this program; I am sure this experience will boost their confidence in their own skills and expertise to lead and make a difference not just in sports but in other fields as well," said Chris Solly, Director of World Academy of Sport, Manchester Business School.

Initiated by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Sports Leadership Development is an administrative and managerial leadership program for all sports fields.
