Making its debut in the Middle East, Panasonic's 150 inch plasma and 103 inch designer series received solid leads at Gitex.
Taeko Danno, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Communications at Panasonic Marketing Middle East, says:
"Our product line up has impressed the visitors to our stand and we have been able to confirm more sales than any previous appearance at Gitex. With the residential and commercial construction boom of the Middle East, our solutions have been of key interest to both developers and the hospitality industry."
People were awed by the site of the world's largest plasma dominating a full corner of one of the exhibition's biggest stands.
"It's amazing," said Nic Arnold, a visitor to Panasonic's 1000 square foot stand. "The whole Panasonic area is a highlight but I've never seen anything like this TV before."
Panasonic showcased a wide range of products across its categories of TV, AV, home entertainment and systems solutions. Key products which were showcased at the stand and will be hitting electronic retails across the region include the Lumix G1 and LX3 cameras, the PY850 series Viera Plasma TV's and the HS100 and SD100 high definition camcorders.
Panasonic's systems solutions which was included as part of the stand for the first time this year, showcased systems solutions for the hospitality, education, security and office automation sectors was also well attended by industry representatives.
"Our theme 'living in high definition' which focused on the networking capabilities of Panasonic products across the different product categories was well received," said Danno.
"For Panasonic, Gitex 2008 has been a great success and we look forward to attending again next year," he added.
