Ali Bin Rashid Al Matani, Manager of Social Responsibilities handed over the cheque to Mahmood bin Khalfan Al Hamhami, the association's chairman.
Mahmood bin Khalfan Al Hamhami thanked and appreciate company's support which is not strange , such support which is serving the society since it has been established, it is considered a real partner of building and establishing the society and economy through provided various tangible and important services.
Mahmood also added Al Noor Blind Association plays a major role in serving this segment of the society and provide many valuable programmes and services which need social solidarity and contribution shared by everyone.
As everybody knows the tools, training and modern technique programmes are costly, so we appeal all sectors to follow the example of the companies that contribute to support the disabilities and the society in general.
Al Hamhami said
"According to the statistics the number of blind in the Sultanate for 2003 eleven thousand which is continuing to grow."
He stressed that the association provides many services such as training courses to develop their skills, walking, movement and computer skills courses.
In addition to, (Braille) reading and writing course, it also provides devices such as(Perkins) touch watch, (Braille) books, spoken laptops, computers and arrange Haj and Umra journeys.
Ali bin Rashid Al Matani, Manager of Social Responsibilities at Omantel said:
"The company is keen to concern about the blind category through the yearly donations, the company belief in this important aspect and support this category which required costly and quality services."
Al Matani added,
"The company appreciates the association's role of serving large segment of the society and responsibilities requires attention to such centers and associations to support its humanitarian and social development."
It is worth noting that the vision of the association is to integrate the blind with society and provide them with spoken computer education, radio programmes, jobs and work to establish income sources for association and prepare them to allow the blind to perform their mission in public normally.
