The 13th round will be held at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CICC) in during the period from 8-11 February 2009 under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

Ossama Kamal, Chairman of TradeFairs International, expressed his happiness with the success of the exhibition over the past years, pointing out that the event brings together industry leaders not only at the local level but also at the international level.

Kamal added that Malaysia will be the guest of honor of Cairo ICT 2009, especially since the Malaysian experiment in the ICT sector is akin to the Egyptian experience.

He pointed out that for the first time in Cairo ICT 2009, a high-level delegation from Taiwan will participate in the exhibition to view business opportunities in the local market, and cause a rapprochement between Egyptian companies and their Taiwanese counterparts - in addition to delegations from other countries such as Algeria and Morocco.

"After the huge success of last year's round in bringing together views of people from different sectors, such as the stock exchange, banks, etc., this year's main focus will be on real estate development utilizing Information Technology (IT)."
says Kamal.

"Other themes of focus will be transportation, web 2.0 and vital issues that concern the public, like freedom and control over the Internet."

Kamal pointed out that there are a large number of companies eager to participate each year, including but not limited to: Telecom Egypt, Mobinil, Vodafone, Microsoft, Huawei, ZTE China, Ericsson, Sun Microsystems, Seagate, IT Synergy, Giza Systems, LINKdotNET, TE Data, and Centra Technology.
