The first 'Green Hero' to be showcased on the site is self professed energy-efficient physicist, Amory Lovins who is a leading environmentalist in his own right.

His study on how to profit from using less energy by applying knowledge of composite materials, engineering, design and energy storage is being recognized as path breaking. Details of his findings can be reviewed at www.go-green.ae.

According to Sharad Agarwal, CEO of Cyber Gear, the company that launched the 'Go Green Online' initiative,
"As part of our ongoing commitment to increase the awareness for energy conservation issues, we will highlight the work of common people who are working to make a difference to our everyday lives. Thinking green means being aware of our interconnectedness with the world and reflecting on the unintended damage we cause nature in the daily course of our lives. Thinking green leads to acting green - taking corrective action to make environmental responsibility a reality. Nominations for 'Green Heroes' are invited through our web site and the pioneering work of deserving environmentalists will be suitably recognised."

Go-Green.ae also features 'Green Stories' that demonstrate the steps taken by corporations as part of their commitment to preserve the planet.

Global organisations such as Panasonic, Orange, Toshiba, Cisco, Discover, Dell, HSBC, Google, Emirates Airlines, Marriott, Hotels and Resorts Intercontinental Hotels, Grand Hyatt, Zipcar, Nissan and Mazda share their 'Green Innovations' online.

Go-Green.ae is updated daily with information relating to news, events, technologies, videos, web resources and success stories in the field of energy conservation, sustainability and environmental protection.
