Tawam Hospital hosts 1st International Respiratory Care Conference

Tawam Hospital in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi, is hosting the first respiratory care conference at the Intercontinental Hotel, Al Ain from October 21st - 23rd with the theme 'Achieving Respiratory Care Excellence in the New Millennium.'

Mr. Michael Heindel, Tawam's CEO, said:
"The first international respiratory care conference embodies the steadfast commitment and dedication of Tawam Hospital in Affiliation with John Hopkins Medicine to present the latest scientific evidence on the care and treatment of respiratory conditions and the newest and the most advanced respiratory technology."


With a pre-workshop conference on mechanical ventilation on day one followed by a series of speeches by top international experts on day two and three, the conference will bring together experts from across the Middle East, Europe and the United States; including the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) and Johns Hopkins Medicine Baltimore and allow medical professionals from across the UAE to meet and interact with researchers and well known experts in the field of respiratory care.

"We are fortunate to have an international panel of distinguished experts in the fields of Pulmonology, Critical Care Medicine, and Respiratory Care whose expertise and knowledge will form the framework of the conference," said J Borders, Chief Medical Officer at Tawam.

"We are confident that the collegial interactions which will be fostered here will have a lasting, positive impact on the care of patients in the GCC," he added.

Topics at the conference will include; What is Evidence Based Respiratory Care by Dean Hess, PhD, RRT, FAARC, Jet Ventilation In Infants and Neonates by Shawn Hughes, RRT-NPS, High and Low levels of PEEP in patients with ALI/ARDS: An Update by Dr.Diederick Gommers and The Future of Respiratory Care Profession Around the World by Jerome Sullivan, PhD, RRT, FAARC, to name a few. The event will also include an open forum.
