'Major enhancements' planned for Pay-As-You-Talk mobile service in Qatar

Qtel revealed today that it is the final stages of planning for a major revamp of its popular Hala service.

The company has been conducting research throughout 2008 to analyze the specific requirements of people using the popular Pay-As-You-Talk pre-paid service, which enables customers to have a mobile phone line without the need for a fixed contract or monthly bills.

Based on customers' feedback, and following ongoing discussion with Qatar's telecommunications regulatory authority, ictQATAR, the company is now primed to deliver a radical reworking of the popular service that will provide more value for money for both new and existing customers, as well as a host of new features and benefits.

Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director of Group Communications in Qtel, said:
"Qatar is entering a new era for telecommunication and customers will be among the first beneficiaries of these changing times."

"Hala has been hugely popular since its launch in 2000 and, by 'energising' this service we will be offering more choice and greater value to our customers," he added.

The newly energised Hala service is set to be unveiled in November.
The newly energized Hala service is set to provide more value for money for new and existing customers, as well as a host of new features and benefits.
