Knowledge Horizon launches Training Time at Grand Hyatt, Muscat

"E-learning is a formidable tool for broadening access to learning. It puts the learners' interest first and offers opportunities for all," said Abeer Al Jassim, General Manager at Al Athaiba based Knowledge Horizon on the launch of the institute's Traning Time e-Learning system, at the Grand Hyatt's Afrah Ballroom.
The launch was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, CEO of the Oman Brand Management Unit and attended by senior government dignitaries.
Speaking at the launch, His Highness Sayyid Faisal acknowledged the excellence of the standards set by Knowledge Horizon in the field of training and highlighted the importance of e-Learning in meeting the growing training needs of Oman.
His Highness also went on to comment on the particular value of Training Time as Oman moves to a knowledge-based economy and a digital society.
A special guest at the Training Time launch was Professor David Morris, Head of the Higher Education Development Department and Director of the e-Learning Strategy at the University of Coventry, UK.
Professor Morris spoke about the exciting and vibrant role that e-Learning has to play in the training process.
Professor Morris will also be guest lecturer on strategic management on Knowledge Horizon's Cambridge Diploma in Management at the Higher Professional Level.
"In today's dynamic business environment, learning has become an integral part of the organisational competitive mindset. Building a sustainable competitive advantage starts with enabling trainess to have continuous access to just-in-time learning opportunities," said Dr Ma'en Al Qatamin, Chairman of Knowledge Horizon as he explained the unique nature of Training Time to the audience at the launch.
He stressed that it will ensure effective and enjoyable training in a range of topics in both soft skills and management, covering areas from leadership and negoatiation to office procedures and customer care.
Dr Ma'en went on to point out that a particularly important feature of Training Time is that it is available in both English and Arabic thus opening up opportunities to as broad an audience as possible and having been designed in the region, the training package is culturally sensitive with region specific situational examples and cases.
The Knowledge Horizon Chairman placed particular emphasis on both the power of Training Time's accompanying training DVDs and its extremely interactive nature.
"Given the important part that qualifications play in training and the emphasis placed on them by training officers in all sectors," added the Knowledge Horizon Chairman, "we have ensured that Training Time courses can be linked to international certification such as City and Guilds."
