RTA the first govt dep't to visit patients of Noor Dubai

As part of its ongoing social initiatives, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) paid a visit to patients of Noor Dubai; a charitable initiative launched by the Emirate of Dubai to treat over one million patients suffering from blindness and visual impairment worldwide.

The visit made to Noor Dubai patients at Dubai Hospital comes in the context of the ongoing RTA initiatives to support the community and humanitarian activities.

Commenting on the visit, Peyman Younes Parham, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication Dep't at RTA Corporate Support Services Sector, said: "This visit is part of the continued efforts of the RTA, as an active Dubai Govt Department, to support the local community and contribute to humanitarian activities. RTA is seeking to lend support to Noor Dubai initiative by visiting these patients.

"During the visit, RTA delegation distributed Eid gifts to patients of Noor Dubai and toured the clinics as well as Operation Theatre; where it met with 38 patients. The delegation inquired after the diseases suffered by the sick and was pleased to see them in a healthy condition. To add more pleasure, the delegation distributed giveaway items to patients as Eidiya along with Eid greetings"

The visiting RTA delegation was received by Dr. Manal Tariam, Head of Noor Dubai Medical Team, Khawla Bu Khater, Head of Dubai Hospital Customer Service Section, Taha Kateet, Head of Dubai Hospital Administrative & Financial Affairs Dep't, and the delegate of Dubai Health Authority Office Mohammed Al-Dhubiani.

In a further similar gesture towards the community, RTA provided buses to lift Noor Dubai patients, together with their families and companions, who were invited by Ski Dubai to attend its Ice Events.

At the end of the visit RTA delegation presented Eid Greeting Cards, a trophy and commemorative gifts to Noor Dubai employees and Dubai Health Authority staff overseeing the initiative.

RTA also paid another visit to Dubai Autism Center, where shopping coupons were distributed to autism children along with Eid gifts and greetings. The delegation made an acquaintance visit to all facilities of the Center and was briefed by the respective officials on autism and how to tackle it.

At the end of the visit the delegation exchanged gifts with the staff of the Center, and commemorative photos were taken with autism children as well as officials of the Center. The Director of Dubai Autism Center Mohammed Al-Ammadi, praised the visit of RTA delegation to the Center hoping that such visits would continue in future as they contribute to strengthening the social fabric. The Center put forward concepts aiming to support the Center in coordination with the RTA. It also called for RTA employees to make regular visits to familiarize themselves with autism and enhance joint cooperation and links.
