Summit to debate effects of globalisation on regional HR

As Arabian Gulf economies diversify, international and regional human resource professionals are gathering in Dubai today (Sunday 26 October 2008) to discuss the challenge of staff recruitmeant, motivation and retention in a market heavily dependent on multicultural overseas workforces.
The summit at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, until Thursday 30 October 2008, features 'big picture' plenary sessions and specialist streams on key themes of talent, performance and reward management.
Today (Sunday 26 October) two of the world's leading authorities in people management are to make special presentations at a Guru Day - Professor Lynda Gratton, Professor of Management Practice at the London Business School, and Professor Fons Trompenaars, Managing Director of the Centre for International Business Studies.
There are also Summit Master Classes tackling topical HR issues such as emotional intelligence, employee relations and situational leadership. There will also be a Middle East HR Summit Excellence Awards gala dinner to honour outstanding achievements in the management and development of human capital. The awards will be for Outstanding Contribution to HR, HR Professional of the Year, Young HR Professional of the Year, HR Initiative of the Year, and Employer of the Year.
