Exhibitions and Conventions Organisers elect representative committee

In a meeting held last week at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the newly found Exhibitions and Conventions Organisers business group elected a representative committee at the Chamber.
Dr Anwar Gargash, Member of the Board and Head of DCCI's Economic Affairs and Commercial Activities Committee, chaired the meeting. Ahmed Al Banna, Deputy Director General of DCCI, also attended.
"By launching these new business groups, and prompting members to elect their own representative committees we want to improve our partnership with businesses in Dubai and provide members with the right platform to voice out their concerns and discuss issues of relevance. It is quite heartening to see that the initiative was such a success," Dr Gargash said.
After announcing the names of the twelve-strong committee members, Mr. Al Banna reminded the attendants DCCI will continue to provide the elected committee with all the support and assistance that they may need.
Elected to sit on the executive panel of the Exhibitions & Conventions Organizers' Business Group are: Mubarak Bin Fahad, Managing Director, Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Assistant General Manager, and Abdulla Al Tayyeb, Assistant General Manager, DWTC, Hessa Hassan Al Ossaily, President of Seagull Exhibitions, Abdul Salam Al Madani, managing director of Index Conferences & Exhibitions, Abdul Rahman Flaknaz, president of International Expo Consults, Mohamed S. Al Geziry, chairman of Mohamed Al Geziry Consultancy, Clive Richardson, chief executive of Fairs & Exhibitions Ltd, Janine Anderson, managing director of Dialogue Co., Geoff Dickinson, managing director of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, Bernarp Walsh, managing director of DMG World Media Dubai Ltd, Satish Khanna, general manager of Al Fajer Information and Services,
Newly formed Committee member Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Asistant General Manager, DWTC said that he believed the newly elected committee would work collaterally to organise this significant business sector finding new and effective methods of developing it further.
A total of seven new Dubai-based business groups were set up in October and November last year. The new groups represent the foodstuffs trading sector, land transport sector, pharmaceuticals and health equipments trading, building materials trading and manufacturing, food and beverages manufacturing, printing and publishing, as well as exhibitions and conventions organisers.
