Held for the first time in the Middle East, Citrix iForum is targeted at technology leaders and innovators, and is designed to provide end users with business solutions using the latest Citrix products and technologies.

Dubai Internet City's CEO, Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman, will inaugurate the one-day forum with an opening speech to showcase the day's agenda which will feature keynote speeches from Citrix executives, including Stefan Sjostrom, Citrix Vice President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as well as Frederic Tourisseau, Area Vice President for Citrix Southern Europe.

"Citrix's decision to hold the prestigious iForum in Dubai after previous successful events in USA, Europe and Asia is a strong indication of how seriously IT leaders now view the importance of the Middle East region and Dubai Internet City is delighted to support such positive initiatives," said Dr Omar bin Sulaiman.

At the forum, Citrix's Europe, Middle East and Africa Vice President, Stefan Sjostrom, will focus on the Citrix vision and strategy of making the virtual workplace a reality. Named Citrix EMEA Vice President in February of 2001, Mr. Sjostrom brings over 20 years of high-technology sales, field marketing, business development and services experience in the EMEA region to Citrix, and is responsible for all EMEA product sales revenue.

Citrix Systems' Southern Europe Area Vice President, Frederic Tourisseau, will lead five large Citrix Enterprise customers in a round table discussion. The incisive dialogue will centre on why and how these customers have implemented Citrix Solutions and its benefits for return on investment. "This is a valuable opportunity for an exchange of ideas, whilst giving a practical insight into the product and its mechanics," emphasized Antoine Aguado, Citrix Middle East Regional Manager.

The sponsors for the event are: Microsoft, HP, Veritas, ADIC, Beta Information Technology, Trinec, SchlumbergerSema, Intel, Acer and New Horizons. The partner exhibition area allows for attendees to visit Citrix partners and explore solutions (products and technologies) around the Citrix architecture.

Microsoft General Manager for UAE, Oman and Yeman, Mr. Abdullatif Al Mulla, will also deliver a keynote speech at the Citrix iForum, discussing Microsoft's role as platform provider for Citrix and their many joint collaborations.

"Citrix and Microsoft enjoy a long-standing partnership that dates back to 1989 in terms of licensing, development and marketing," stated Mr Al Mulla, "We are pleased to be able to participate in this event and look forward to sharing our views and strategy regarding the future of the platform with the IT industry's leading professionals."

The iForum will be divided into one sales session and two technical sessions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to listen to issues discussed by Citrix partners and benefit from the comprehensive agenda, which includes topics ranging from Citrix architecture and adaptive infrastructure to pricing and return on investment.
