Qtel eyes bigger stake in PT Indosat

PT Indosat, Indonesia's second-largest phone company, will separate its fixed-line operations to allow Qatar Telecom to own 65% of the company, Bloomberg has reported. Indosat will have two years from today to spin off the unit. Indonesian law allows overseas companies to own up to 65% of mobile-phone companies, while limiting foreign ownership to 49% in fixed-line phone operators.
