The Nakheel Tower will have more than 200 floors and approximately 150 lifts. Inspired by Islamic design and geometry, the development also proposes 3,500 hotel rooms, 950,000 m2 of commercial and retail space, and the world's only inner city harbour.
The project team includes architect Woods Bagot, building services engineer Norman Disney & Young and structural engineer WSP. More than 200 individuals, based round the world, have so far been registered as BIW users. This figure will increase significantly once work on the Tower starts.
Chris O'Donnell, Nakheel's Chief Executive Officer, says:
"Working on such huge and demanding developments requires efficient collaboration among multiple teams and organizations. We selected the BIW system for its ability to manage complex collaboration and reporting requirements at Nakheel and with our project teams."
BIW General Manager, Middle East, Dr Asif Sharif says:
"BIW won this project against stiff competition from other vendors by virtue of its team's experience, the track record of its technology in managing mega-projects, and the scalability of its application and SaaS infrastructure."
