Airbus to exhibit A318 Elite at Avex 08 for first time
- Egypt: Tuesday, October 28 - 2008 at 11:28
- PRESS RELEASE
An Airbus A318 Elite featuring a VIP cabin will be displayed at the Avex show 1 for the first time, giving potential customers the chance to experience for themselves the comfort and spaciousness that it offers.
Airbus' ACJ Family, comprising the A318 Elite, ACJ and A320 Prestige, is the new top-end of the market in business jets. It features the widest, tallest and most spacious cabins in its class, with around twice the cabin width and nearly three times the volume of traditional business jets.
The Airbus ACJ Family's tremendous improvement in cabin comfort means that passengers benefit from the ambiance of open and airy surroundings, complemented by dome ceilings, as well as unprecedented freedom of movement.
Derived from the best-selling A320 product line, which now has more than 6,300 orders and 285 customers and operators to its credit, the Airbus ACJ Family is also a more modern design than traditional business jets - as well as an attractively affordable alternative.
Airbus' ACJ Family is thus well placed to benefit from customers trading up from traditional business jets, because while it is similarly sized on the outside, it features a much more comfortable and spacious cabin on the inside.
Airbus' corporate jet offering also includes the widebody A330, A340, A350 and even the double-deck A380, making it the supplier of the ultimate in corporate jets. These VIP widebodies offer even more space and comfort, as well as "non-stop to most of the world" range. Airbus announced its first sales of VIP A350s last year, adding to several VIP A340 orders, and also landed its first deal for a VIP A380 - highlighting the strong demand that it continues to see from the market.
The Airbus ACJ Family has won more than 100 sales since its launch a decade ago, and has a strong customer-base around the world, with aircraft flying on every continent, including Antarctica (ferrying scientists to and from Australia).
With a further 50 sales of government and VIP widebodies to its credit, total sales of Airbus corporate jetliners now stand at more than 150.
