The workshop discussed the recommendations of a special committee that was established to review and adopt the future strategy and framework for enhancing the Department's services and further develop its human resources to ensure excellent quality services and outcomes.

Based on the observations of the committee, some of the DNRD objectives will be strategically planned for the short and mid term to support the Department's plans to enhance its services and meet the award criteria as set by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP).

The strategy also set the continuous upgrading of the services and the ongoing development of the skills and capabilities of the staff in the various divisions as long term goals.

The event was presided over by Major-General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of DNRD, and attended by Brigadier Obaid Moheir Bin Suroor, Deputy Director of DNRD, the assistant directors, and over 50 managers of various administrative sections at the department.

The participants also discussed the strategic goals mentioned in DNRD's strategic plan that was adopted last year, with special attention to its compatibility with local and federal strategic plans.

In his opening speech, Major-General Al Marri said, "This extensive workshop comes in line with the comprehensive process of reviewing the strategy that DNRD adopted at the beginning of the current year, which is aimed at addressing the challenges emerging from the rapid changes we are witnessing locally, regionally and internationally."
