"Bridging the gap between education and industries is an important step that could be further backed-up by establishing more research centres that will support students, employers and authorities. This step will also facilitate the share of knowledge and expertise,"said H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer.
OGS 2008 remains the definitive networking platform for key players in the region's engineering and technical fields, and has launched a new OGS Careers Expo for fresh and experienced engineering talent. The ADNOC in Excellence in Forum is complementing the OGS Careers Expo as an interactive conference where engineers participate in discussions on real-life problems and their solutions.
"OGS Careers Expo has been launched alongside the more traditional elements of the event to give engineers and the organizations looking for talent a progressive platform to communicate. The Careers Expo is being complemented by the Engineering in Excellence Forum that works to a dual purpose. First, it allows fresh graduates an invaluable glimpse into the trends, technologies and challenges that define the industry. Second, it offers more experienced engineers a chance to look at practical problems and the technologies used to solve them as a refresher course,"explained Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences & Exhibitions, organisers of the event.
OGS also hosts an Electricity and Water Technology segment will focus on renewable energy resources as well as environmental sustainability, which has emerged as one of the most critical issues affecting the development strategies of governments and private sector firms in the Middle East. In addition, the event's Instrumentation, Automation and Laboratory Technology segment is a cross-industrial platform for technicians and engineers, showcasing a comprehensive range of equipment, technology and expertise.
