The activity is organized annually to coincide with a nationwide breast cancer awareness campaign that aims at educating all women in the UAE on cancer's risk factors and the benefits of early detection.

More than 400 DWC students and faculty attended a lecture by Dr. Sawsan Almadhi from Friends of Cancer Patients who discussed cancer symptoms, self-examination, and the benefits of early detection.

Dr. Almadhi provided the students with a 30 minutes workshop on self-examination tips and practices. Students received educational brochures and had access to individual consultations at DWC's wellness center.

Burjuman's Pink bus was available on campus to distribute awareness material and pink ribbons.
