  • PRESS RELEASE

As part of the Save Water campaign, Babyshop organized a special on-the-spot painting competition for students of Dubai International Academy, a premier school in Emirates Hills area of Dubai.

The event brought together over 150 children in the age group of 6 and 11 years. The youngsters showed great enthusiasm in the contest and surprised everyone with their creativity as they came up with unique ideas of how to save water. In their paintings they also showed their awareness and concern for diminishing water resources worldwide.

Mr Julian Wilcock, the Deputy principal of the Elementary school, explained:
"This is the first time that the Dubai International Academy children have participated in the UAE Children's Painting Competition, a demonstration of our commitment to developing our children's awareness for preserving the ecosystem and conserving our resources. We want to support the future generation's pledge to help protect the environment and save water and to create a better future for our young ones."

"The Save Water Day had been specially conceived to give the young participants an opportunity to express their views on the subject while having fun. Just like plants and animals, all resources have to be safeguarded. By making kids aware of the importance of saving water, we hope to make them more responsible towards the environment,"
said Rahul Saxena, Marketing Manager of Babyshop, the associate sponsor of the event.

Babyshop showed its appreciation of the children's efforts by presenting each one a certificate of participation as well as a goody bag to take home. It also arranged a magician to entertain the kids after the contest was over. This was a huge success as the youngsters got completely engrossed by the tricks, with some children trying to copy the magician.

Organized under the kind patronage of the Ministry of Education the Save Water Children's Painting Competition is targeted at all school children between the age of 6 and 11 years in the UAE and brings together leading companies like, AGMC - BMW, Babyshop, Chocoa, Western Union, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Philips and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority.
