This is the first time 'Ajaaj' will be revealed to a UAE audience in his new incarnation.

Watani Program recently forged a new partnership with Blink Studios, a leading Dubai-based animation production house, to develop and produce an animated version of Ajaaj suitable for broadcast as a televised cartoon series.

Local and international comic book lovers will be able to view a trailer of the new Ajaaj series at the Watani stall of Character Dubai. Mohamed Baharoon, Deputy Director General of Watani also gave a presentation on the evolution of Ajaaj in front of international character and licensing experts at a seminar held yesterday at Character Dubai.

The success of 'Ajaaj', which was created in 2007 by the Watani Program to serve as a communication tool aimed at sharing the UAE values and heritage with the nation's children, presents a great opportunity to introduce the values of UAE heritage and culture to children worldwide in an entertaining and familiar format.

'Ajaaj' recently attracted unprecedented praise from major international children's television networks when it launched its concept for a television series at MIPCOM, a global content event held in Cannes.

"We are proud that Ajaaj can compete on the same playing field as other superheroes produced by comic book giants, in terms of core values and intellectual content. We are hoping characters such as Ajaaj will open the door for other more effective methods to communicate with the world, especially because we live in a society that really has to project a more positive image about Arab civilization."

says Ahmed Al Mansoori, Director General of Watani.

An Ajaaj television series is expected to launch on local and international television channels in 2010 as a leading Arabic series. The Watani program is currently developing strategic partnerships with international broadcasting networks, licensing and distribution companies.
