ADIPEC and Energy 2030 to present Alternative Energy Awards 2008

The awards, which will take place for the first time in the UAE, will be presented at the ADIPEC Gala Reception on November 4, 2008.

Individuals, renewable energy companies, developers, scientists and government bodies are all in with a chance of having their dedication to furthering the development of the use of sustainable energy sources recognised.

Devised by Future fuels and energies magazine and first launched in Qatar in 2007, the awards have been developed to celebrate environmental achievements as well as to promote the widespread use and social and economic benefits of clean, sustainable energy.

An experienced panel of judges headed up by Ecco Securities will carefully select winners, who will be announced at an exclusive gala reception at the Hiltonia Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Award categories include 'Project of the Year', 'Environmentalist of the Year' and 'The Green Award', which celebrates a campaign, publication or organisation which has successfully raised public awareness of energy efficiency or the effects of energy on the environment.

ADIPEC attracts over 35, 000 oil experts and executives every year and with Abu Dhabi being recently named in the press as being one of the world's leaders in the race for future energy solutions, it is the perfect showcase for the 2008 awards.
