The Wave, Muscat appoints new COO

The Wave, Muscat has further strengthened its management team with the appointment of Stuart Ingram as Chief Operating Officer at The Wave, Muscat.

In his new role Ingram will focus on delivery of the mixed use development and lend his extensive expertise in real estate projects to give further momentum to The Wave, Muscat project.

Ingram, a Chartered Engineer, has over 16 years of experience in International real estate development projects.

Initially trained as a multi disciplinary Design Consultant within regional and international design offices, he has acted as a Client's Representative on several significant projects.

Prior to his promotion to COO Ingram has handled the portfolio of Vice-President Project Management at The Wave, Muscat for 10 months.

Welcoming Ingram, Nick Smith, CEO, The Wave, Muscat said,

"During the past 10 months Stuart has proven himself to be an invaluable part of the management team and I am delighted to be able to announce his promotion to the position of COO. He brings with him a wealth of international experience and expertise which will be fully utilised in ensuring that the project continues to be delivered on time, creating the new heart of Muscat."


Commenting on his appointment, Ingram said: "I am extremely pleased to take on this new role at The Wave, Muscat. This is a very exciting period for the project as we begin to hand over the first properties to the home owners from Phase 1 of the development. The next challenge is to progress the golf, marina, retail and hotel components of the Wave Muscat, to supplement the ongoing residential completions and provide a world class lifestyle to our new residents.

"The Wave, Muscat also lays a significant amount of emphasis on "green" initiatives to its design and development, including energy efficient modules for construction structure, adopting best practice principles in creating green spaces, innovative approaches to landscaping techniques and adopting sustainable techniques for recycling water.

I have a keen interest in emphasizing the significant contribution that "Green initiatives " play in shaping a real estate development. My efforts shall be geared towards The Wave, Muscat applying for accreditation from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) where appropriate as this recognition is especially important to us".

Ingram's key skills lie in his ability and experience in project managing multi-disciplinary design teams and contractors for prestigious multi million dollar construction developments in the UK and the Middle East, including industrial, retail, residential and private healthcare projects.

His core skills in the management and control of design, construction, cost and programme of building projects have seen many projects enjoy the success they deserve.

His most recent project, Ski Dubai - Mall of the Emirates, won five international Construction awards.

In his previous role at Mace, Stuart was Middle East Operations Director for Mace International between 1999 and 200 and Project Director on a Signature High rise Development in Business Bay, an approximately $1bn mixed use scheme.

With his training as a Civil Engineer and as a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Stuart brings to the table a wide spectrum of experience which promises to enrich the commitment the senior management has to The Wave, Muscat project.

The Wave, Muscat, is being developed through a joint venture comprising Oman's Waterfront Investments (representing the Government of the Sultanate of Oman), National Investment funds Company (representing the Omani Pension Funds), and the UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Group.
