- PRESS RELEASE
DuPont, one of the world's leading science companies, has announced that its science and innovations are featured at Living Tomorrow 3 [LT3] - House of the Future project, in Brussels, Belgium.
"Innovation is in our company's DNA", said Tony Azzam, Regional Business Manager, DuPont Building Innovations, Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Pakistan.
"Many innovative solutions developed through our science are now a part of our daily life. The same is true for the concept of House of the Future. It is a perfect match for our vision, which is to bring market solutions that make life better, safer and healthier."
"Living Tomorrow clearly demonstrates the depth of our scientific capabilities", added Andrew Holdsworth, Director Middle East.
"We are presenting One DuPont - a science company dedicated to delivering solutions that work together to address society's needs and challenges. Our research and development efforts are focused on areas of major concern to society such as climate change, fossil fuel energy use, or the environment; areas which are key to leave a sustainable planet for our children and for their children. These advanced concepts and materials are of particular interest to regions like the Middle East, where construction and real estate development continue to progress and evolve at a rapid and highly-competitive pace."
"DuPont's primary mission is sustainable growth - creating value for shareholders and society, while reducing the environmental footprint along the value chains in which we operate. LT3 embodies DuPont's commitment to deliver 'sustainability through science," he added.
DuPont has highlighted its science-based construction products and technologies, architectural glass designs, DuPont Corian for hygiene and aesthetics, and other lifestyle enhancements during the unique home environment project.
These offerings are aimed at enhancing residential living by improving comfort levels while reducing energy consumption.
Some of the specific products that are displayed include DuPont Climate Systems, breathing membranes and damp regulating layers that improve heat insulation; DuPont Energain wall panels, which prevent excess energy consumption and unpleasant temperature peaks in low-inertia buildings; and DuPont Powder Coatings, which offer protection against corrosion and weathering.
DuPont will also display its unique SentryGlas Plus transparent film, which allows architects to use decorative and yet strong layered glass for contemporary and creative glass-based building designs.
SentryGlas Plus is sheet glass bonded with special transparent films developed by DuPont.
Thin and yet highly resistant to damage, the glass product offers long-term protection against break-ins and shattering because shards remain attached to the film.
In the sensor-operated, multifunctional kitchen area of the Home of the Future designed by globally renowned architect, Zaha Hadid, and made in cooperation with the Italian high quality kitchen producer Ernestomeda, the cooking island (the Z-island) is made from DuPont Corian.
DuPont Corian is non-porous, solid colored and extremely durable.
DuPontTM Corian is available in over 100 colors and so versatile that it can be made in just about every conceivable shape.
Other DuPont innovations to be exhibited include a pesticide-free weed control fabric that protects gardens from weeds and the virtually wear-proof DuPont Tefzel used for cable insulation that will be part of the floor heating system of the Home of the Future hobby room module.
