The Dubai Mall to open on November 4

The spokesperson said:

"The Dubai Mall was prepared to open as planned for October 30. However, the additional days will ensure the final touches are in place to allow our visitors to fully appreciate and enjoy The Dubai Mall experience."

He added, "The new date further allows us to address the finishing aspects of the mall infrastructure. The Dubai Mall is a remarkable project and the efforts of our valued partners including government authorities, contractors and retailers are greatly appreciated. The Dubai Mall will achieve a successful opening on November 4, with their continued support."

"The Dubai Mall is a world-class project and a true global landmark in the retail sector. It is a once-in-a-lifetime project and is being executed to the highest standards. The flagship mall is a significant initiative in line with the growth strategy for Dubai as outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015. The added time will enable stronger infrastructure support for visitors and deliver the best possible customer experience," he explained.

Emaar Malls Group spokesperson added, "Sprawling over 12 million sq ft with an internal floor area of 5.9 million sq ft and a gross leasable area of 3.77 million sq ft, The Dubai Mall will have over 1,200 stores of which nearly 165 retailers are either new to the region, or opening standalone or flagship stores for the first time in Dubai. Key opening day attractions include Dubai Aquarium & Discovery Centre, a world-class attraction revealing the marvels of the underwater world; the Olympic-size Dubai Ice Rink and the world's largest indoor Gold Souk."

"The Dubai Mall will also feature the Fashion Avenue, a spectacular global showcase of prestigious fashion labels from around the world; and The Grove, an outdoor-indoor retail and F&B streetscape with a fully retractable roof. The family entertainment options include KidZania, an 80,000 sq ft innovative children's 'edu-tainment' concept; SEGA Republic, an indoor theme park; and a 22-screen cineplex, the largest in Dubai," he concluded.
