2Connect, the youngest company to be shortlisted in the "Best Brand" category, is competing against nominees who are worth over $1bn each in market capitalization. With the 'blue link' as 2Connect's celebrity mascot and brand ambassador, 2Connect has gone from strength to strength since its founding in 2004 to create a brand image that epitomised the company and exemplifies its vision of providing 'next generation of telecommunications services'.

Fahad AlShirawi, Founder and Managing Director of 2Connect, said:
"We are extremely honoured to be nominated for the second time in a row. 2Connect is proud to be included amongst such esteemed peers from the MENA telecom industry."

"Extensively considered as the benchmark of telecom excellence, competition for the Telecoms World Award Middle East is intense. We continue to aim for excellence as we further strengthen 2Connect brand equity value in Bahrain and in the region. Going from an emerging company to a well known brand, 2Connect's unprecedented inlays into Bahrain's telecommunications market is once again being recognised," said Francis Pepin, Vice President, Marketing, 2Connect.

The seconed annual Telecoms World Awards Middle East recognises companies that have demonstrated an unequalled ability to accomplish and repeatedly set standards of excellence. Judged by a panel of some of the biggest names in the Telecoms industry, the awards showcases and celebrates telecom talent from the MENA region. The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at Dubai's Al Bustan Rotana Hotel on 18 November 2008.

"2Connect has consistently strived towards raising the quality of service delivered in Bahrain and has endeavoured to improve upon the standard of service regionally. Being nominated for 'Best Brand', yet again, is a testament to our company's dedication to our customers and a welcome recognition for our constant efforts to further the telecommunications industry in the Middle East,"
added Francis.
