WRDC to support Career Fair 2008

The Western Region Development Council (WRDC) the central co-coordinating body leading development and promoting opportunity in Al Gharbia has recently announced that it will support the Al Gharbia Career Fair 2008 at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).

WRDC's support at the fair is part of its mission to facilitate employment and career development opportunities for the residents of Al Gharbia. The Al Gharbia Career Fair will be an annual event at the HCT campuses to create a meeting point for the employers and the jobseekers. This year the fair will be held at Madinat Zayed on the 2nd and 3rd of November and at Al Ruwais on the 5th and 6th of November.

In addition to the students, the fairs will be attended by job-seekers and residents from all across Al Gharbia and by top companies and governmental entities looking to recruit qualified applicants from the region. The Career Fair will be open from 9am until 6pm on all days.

In his comments about WRDC's support at the fair, H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, WRDC's Director General, said:
"We are pleased to collaborate with HCT - Madinat Zayed and Ruwais as to organise the Al Gharbia Career Fair 2008 promoting job opportunities and career options for residents and students of Al Gharbia. This fair is an ideal platform for building career awareness and offering employment opportunities, which will help students and residents choose the right career paths."


Al Mazrouei added: "The fair allows participants to interact and build links with a wide variety of prestigious employers so that they can showcase their skills and expertise. The employers can shed light on their objectives, organizational profiles, structures, operations and other facets of their organisations with the aim to attract best talents in the region."

WRDC's support of the Al Gharbia Career Fair 2008 is part of its overall commitment to the people of Al Gharbia. WRDC's development plan, of which education, health, social and career opportunities for the residents of Al Gharbia is the central focus, includes involving the local community in the development process.

WRDC had signed an MoU with the HCT - Madinat Zayed and Ruwais Colleges, aimed at improving access to educational facilities and programmes in the region, and introducing innovative solutions to meet educational needs of Al Gharbia people.
