Al-Dosari sad:
"The ten buses operating on this route consist of 4 double deck buses, 4 buses with a capacity of 41 passengers, and 2 buses with a capacity of 28 passengers. These buses will shuttle in a route starting from Al Qusais Station, passing along Beirut Road, entering Sharjah through Al Ta'awon Bridge, and from there to Al Jubail Station. The same route will be used in the trip back to Dubai."
"RTA is always keen to broaden and improve the level of service delivered to the public, including services rendered by Public Transport Agency. This entails deployment of new highly developed buses fitted with the latest comfort and safety features, based on the vision of the RTA to provide safe and smooth transport for all. This line is being launched in association with Sharjah Transport Agency to add to the cooperation between the two parties aiming to serve the largest possible number of commuters between Dubai and Sharjah," said Al Dosari.
Commenting on the bus timetable he added that these buses would start off Al Qusais Station to Al Jubail Station at 04.00 pm and the service would continue up to 11.30 pm, from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays and official holidays, buses will be operated from 07.00 am up to 11.30 pm, with a 20 minutes interval time.
Al Dosari went further to say: "We are looking forward for a clear improvement on the quality of service on Dubai - Sharjah route, following the introduction of these buses procured by the RTA from the best global suppliers. These buses have highly sophisticated specifications and technologies as well as top class safety and security features. They are fitted with a statistical system to count the number of commuters and are linked to the RTA Control Center through a GPS system to enhance the efficiency of service on this line. These buses are also fitted with high-definition display monitors fitted both internally and externally."
"Introducing these buses is part of RTA strategy to promote the use of mass transit modes; which is a true indicator that Public Transport Agency is honouring its commitment to provide a modern transport network to the public. This is envisaged through upgrading the quality of infrastructure and service so as to meet the current and projected commuting requirements triggered by the rapid development drive in the UAE in general and the emirate of Dubai in particular," he concluded.
