Dr Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said:
?"Dubai Knowledge Village Breakfast Club is an excellent platform for all members to share individual experiences and acquire industry best practices while getting to know about peer organizations in the UAE. This quarter's gathering offered an opportunity for the tourism and hospitality professionals to exchange relevant insights and network in a professional environment."
"We are confident our discussions will translate into higher efficiency for all participants, as we strive to continuously launch similar initiatives that are geared towards generating a talent pool of individuals and contribute to the creation of a holistic knowledge-based economy."
Led by guest speaker Hans Heijligers, Area General Manager for Dubai City Hotels and General Manager of Jumeirah Emirates Towers, the Breakfast Club session presented Jumeirah's success in setting high industry standards and executing key strategies.
Jumeirah's path to global success is highly dependent on the strength of its relationship with employees, customers and stakeholders. Anchored towards co-creation, the company follows an iterative process in which the staff and consumers work together, often to create new products, services or communication initiatives, with a view to build a better future and new value for both the customer and the company.
Mike Adi, Managing Director of Stratcon FZ LLC, a consultancy firm that assists global organizations to achieve high efficiency and deliver value to its shareholders, served as the event moderator.
Another featured speaker was David Reay, Managing Director at Gibson Consulting, a business strategy consultancy that provides state-of-the-art training and development design to over 65 multinational organizations. Referring to the Jumeirah Group, he discussed the strategy that helped the company establish itself as the best hotel management operator in the world.
The Jumeirah Group portfolio includes the world-famous Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Emirates Towers, the third highest hotel in the world. It also manages the Wild Wadi Water Park and handles the operation of both The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and Jumeirah Hospitality. Though a majority of Jumeirah's hotels are based in Dubai, the group is currently expanding in other markets abroad, including New York and London.
Hasan Makansi, Head of Partner Development, Dubai Knowledge Village, said: "This quarter's edition of the Breakfast Club targeted a niche industry that is highly relevant, especially with Dubai being the tourism hub of the region, not to mention the sector's phenomenal growth. We recommended new business concepts during the session to help companies such as Jumeirah spread the knowledge and experience to similar companies within the industry and build a base for various stakeholders to benefit from the interaction.
"Consultants and experts from companies operating out of Dubai Knowledge Village continuously provide support to the Breakfast Club members by advising and recommending solutions for any issue or challenge discussed at the gathering."
