Emirates NBD recognized for excellence in quality by MasterCard Worldwide

Emirates NBD has been awarded the MasterCard Worldwide Regional Quality Award for its excellence in operational achievements.

The MasterCard annual awards program acknowledges performance in key areas that influence cardholder experiences.

MasterCard Worldwide has been presenting these prestigious awards for three years and this is the first time a bank in the UAE has received the award. Emirates NBD, who was recognized for being an outstanding performer, in the Middle East and Levant, was one of three award winners in the South Asia, Middle East and Africa region.

Accepting the award on behalf of Emirates NBD, Suvo Sarkar, General Manager, Retail Banking said:

This award reflects Emirates NBD's vision of being the key player in the banking and finance industry in the UAE and throughout the region. Denzil Lawson, General Manager, Middle East and Levant, MasterCard Worldwide who presented the Award to Emirates NBD said: "MasterCard Worldwide is delighted to present Emirates NBD with this prestigious Award, acknowledging operational excellence, high quality service delivery and reliability to cardholders. MasterCard, together with its customer financial institutions, will continue to create opportunities that enhance cardholder satisfaction."

MasterCard established the Global Quality Awards program in 2006 to acknowledge customers who have achieved exceptional operational performance in MasterCard Quality Standards. Award winners are customer financial institutions who achieve the highest standards of cardholder satisfaction at the point of sale (POS) through authorization of transactions, call referral rates, and dispute resolution performance.

The awards are designed to recognize excellent customers for their operational achievements while creating an understanding about the need to focus on quality and performance excellence within the wider marketplace.

Award winners are determined in the first half of each year based on prior year data. Winners must have annual authorization transaction volume of greater than one million.
