- PRESS RELEASE
The much anticipated international trade exhibition, Sweets Middle East, will open its doors tomorrow.
Recognising the growth and increasing sophistication of the Middle East food market, two giants in the exhibition industry have partnered again to host the second edition of the only dedicated trade show geared towards the Sweets, Confectionery, Bakery, Snack Food and Ice Cream industries in the Middle East.
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), leading regional trade show organiser, and Koelnmesse GmbH, organiser of the major confectionery show ISM in Cologne, present Sweets Middle East 2008. The exhibition takes place from 3 - 5 November 2008 in Halls 7 & 8 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Confirming an impressive growth in exhibition space for the second edition of the exhibition, the organisers welcome the participation of more than 170 companies from 30 countries. International products and brands will be on display from companies participating in 8 national pavilions. These include Belgium, Egypt, France, Germany, Turkey and the USA, as well as two new pavilions from Cyprus and Malaysia.
Market leaders will launch new products at the exhibition, including platinum sponsor IFFCO, a FMCG company, who will be presenting "Blast", a chocolate bar with nuts and raisins and "Nutty Bite" which is a biscuit with pistachios, cashews and almonds. In addition top local and international exhibitors like Al Adel, Hunter Foods, J.G Niederegger GmbH & Co, Popular Popcorn and Seham will showcase new products including a fusion snack from Hunter Foods and signature marzipan and nougats from J.G Niederegger GmbH amongst others.
Doors will open at 10:00am at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), where trade and business professionals related to the industry will be able to find out more about the latest products and market trends from some of the biggest brands in the sweets industry.
"International and regional companies have been preparing for this year's Sweets Middle East all year, and trade visitors will be impressed with what is on display. The 2008 event will be hugely important as companies actively plan to expand business opportunities and offer leading products" said Joanne Cook, Industry Group Manager - Exhibitions & Events Management at Dubai World Trade Centre.
