NBAD Employee Wellness Day was conducted as part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility CSR program, and reflects NBAD's commitment to ensure a comfortable and healthy work atmosphere for all its staff and customers.
The event offered NBAD employees with medical and health screening and counselling in association with Al Rafa Medical Centre, screening for Thalassaemia by the UAE Genetic Diseases Association and Breast Cancer Awareness from the Friends of Cancer Patients.
There was also a variety of alternative and complimentary activities and services available for employees to try out.

Technogym and Chi Spa offered trials of their equipment and spa treatments.
Aquarius magazine was distributed to all employees, Modern Pharmacy and Johnson & Johnson Middle East, provided product samples and Delta Med carried out hair and scalp analysis and distributed product samples.
Art of Living gave several short presentations on the yogic Power of Breath and stress relieving breathing exercises, and employees enjoyed a healthy balanced snack lunch from Biterite.
The event was designed to provide a holistic approach to wellness awareness.
"Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is part of the way we are choosing to business,' said Abdulla M. S. AbdulRaheem, NBAD's Senior General Manager and Group Chief Operating Officer. "It does not just mean that we give money to charity or recycle our newspapers; it goes far beyond that," he added.
"A very important part of CSR and sustainability at NBAD is to look internally and see what we are doing as an employer and how we look after our employees over and above paying a salary and providing a good working environment," he explained.
"As part of this responsibility to our people, the CSR team organised the NBAD Employee Wellness Day which took our original Health Day concept to the next level. Over 450 employees attended and enjoyed a different wellness experience, this was a significant increase over past year's attendance" he added.
"Investment in our employees' wellness makes absolute sense." said Ms. Belinda Scott, NBAD's CSR Officer.
"In the run up to the Wellness Day, we published a weekly series of wellness awareness articles and short self assessments on our intranet to help our people understand its importance. They were designed to get our employees thinking about their levels of intellectual, environmental, financial, social and occupational wellness."
"A well employee is happier and this is of great benefit to his/her family life, which results in higher levels of contentment. At work this can be seen through less time lost through illness, improved productivity and employee engagement, which leads to prosperity for both shareholders, employers and employees alike - we all win! From the feedback we received from our staff, they said that the Wellness Day made them feel more valued as an employee. We can't ask for a better sign of success than that."NBAD's CSR Officer concluded.
