Emirates NBD, one of the largest banking groups in the region in terms of assets, has once again been reconfirmed as a key sponsor of the Global Village.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that Emirates NBD will be a key sponsor and exclusive Bank at the event, which is now firmly established as a unique international destination for tourism, entertainment, leisure and culture in the region.

Mr. Jamal Bin Ghalaita, General Manager, Consumer Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, the parent company of Emirates Bank, said:
"Emirates Bank is very proud to be a main sponsor of the Global Village for the fourth consecutive year. We believe Global Village is a prime event for our bank's involvement. It is one of the richest cultural events in Dubai, gathering the people and cultures of the world and providing a fun, yet educational platform for its visitors."

"As a bank that has catered to all levels of society to a variety of nationalities, we share common ground with the values that the Global Village is built on, and are very happy to be key sponsors of the event," he continued.

The sponsorship is also the latest in a long list of initiatives by Emirates NBD to support and promote initiatives by the Dubai government.

"The Global Village is another key example of the visionary leadership that is guiding Dubai, and we are glad to support any initiative that improves the image of the UAE in the eyes of the world," said Mr. Suvo Sarkar, General Manager, Retail Banking at Emirates NBD.

Similar to previous years, Emirates NBD will exclusively provide its services at the venue of the event by facilitating 7 ATMs to the visitors.

The Global Village extravaganza will take place between 12th November 2008 and 21st February 2009 at Dubailand, and is expected to be bigger and better than ever before. Following the overwhelming success of the previous edition and high demand from visitors to extend the duration of the Global Village, the fun-filled premises will open its doors for an extra 21 days welcoming families of all age groups from around the world.
