- PRESS RELEASE
Low rates of staff retention in the UAE are no secret; settling into the right company can be difficult for many people who are, in turn, perhaps trying to settle into a new home and a new life simultaneously.
Understanding Leadership is a three-day Forum being launched in the UAE in November, designed to increase the understanding of leadership behaviours, traits and drivers through a series of sessions and workshops delivered by internationally renowned psychologist, Professor Adrian Furnham.
Taking place at The One and Only Royal Mirage from 23-25 November, the Forum is organised by 8ack International, a Dubai based company which, to date, has specialised in training the region's leaders, directors and executives , to develop their communication, presentation and public speaking skills. Understanding Leadership is designed to enable those at senior managerial levels to hone their leadership skills and understand the tactical and organisational ways in which they can help maximise their staff's potential.
Professor Furnham will run a series of sessions and evening workshops over the three days. Participants can choose to mix and match which sessions to attend to suit their business, skills or desired area of learning needs, a unique offering from a Forum in the region.
Day one will focus on 'Understanding Emotional Intelligence', showing managers 'how-to' get in touch with their social and emotional intelligence and using this to improve relationships and communication with employees. Day two addresses 'Understanding Talent Management' ensuring that talent is always used to a company's advantage and 'how-to' recognise, manage and reward talented staff. The final day will be spent 'Understanding Performance Management'. Participants will learn the essential skills of implementing and maintaining an effective performance management system.
The first evening workshop will provide an overview of Psychometric testing. Participants will delve into the secrets of this much sought after management tool. Many companies pay large amounts of money for the information such assessment reports provide, the workshop will look at the return on investment such tools provide. The second evening workshop will focus on the latest ideas in job engagement and motivation, which explores techniques to ensure that staff are fully engaged and motivated in their roles.
Over the three days, participants will take part in discussions and activities in order to understand fully the most successful methods which can be implemented into the structure of their companies in order to maximise staff potential and therefore impact positively on productivity and profit.
8ack International is owned and run by Mike Atack, who founded the company in the UK in 2001 before moving to Dubai in 2005. Mike has the reputation of being one of the world's finest presentation skills trainers. He has enlisted the expert knowledge of Professor Furnham, a Fellow of the British Psychological Society who has published 650 scientific papers and 55 books, to conduct this unique Forum. He will impart his wisdom, in particular his expertise on organisational behaviour, to the UAE's most senior business people.
