IBM receives 'Best Customer Service' award in software category

  • United Arab Emirates: Saturday, January 18 - 2003 at 11:27
  • PRESS RELEASE

IBM Middle East has been presented with the 'Best Customer Service' award in the software category at the IT Excellence Awards 2002 ceremony held in Dubai on Tuesday night at the Emirates Towers Hotel.

The award is recognition of IBM and its business partners' relentless commitment to providing the highest levels of service and support to its customers across the region. The 7th IT Excellence Awards ceremony, which is organised annually by Datamatix, recognises the contribution that local and international technology companies make to the region.

"Over the last seven years, the IT Excellence Awards has encouraged initiatives that have raised the bar on the products and services available in this region. We truly appreciate the efforts of Datamatix in organising this annual event and providing a channel for technology providers to know what their customers really think," said Bashar Kilani, manager of software group, IBM Middle East and North/West Africa. "The fact that IBM has been nominated by organizations throughout the region from large enterprises to small and medium businesses is extremely rewarding. It is also excellent recognition for the great work over the past year of our general marketing and services representatives in the Middle East, Gulf Business Machines (GBM) and Saudi Business Machines (SBM) and all our other business partners in the region."

IBM Software Group and its business partners have clinched several major deals with organisations in the region over the last year, including Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCF), Standard Chartered
Bank and Kuwait Oil Company. IBM's software offerings have helped these companies better manage their IT infrastructures and seamlessly integrated their business processes, allowing them to focus more closely on strategic projects to better support their own customers.
