Abu Dhabi Grand announces regional promotion

  • United Arab Emirates: Saturday, January 18 - 2003 at 12:36
  • PRESS RELEASE

Abu Dhabi's premier hotel overlooking the Gulf, the Abu Dhabi Grand, has launched an Eid promotion to attract visitors from the GCC to try out the new city attractions in the UAE capital.

Prices are inclusive of buffet breakfast in the rooftop revolving Al Fanar restaurant, a complimentary shuttle service to the major shopping malls and 20 per cent off all food and beverage.

Royal Club and suite guests also have access to the Club lounge with complimentary Internet access and refreshments through the day, as well as 24 hour butler service, thanks to the hotel's latest initiative.

The hotel is currently undergoing redevelopment, adding a second tower, lobby, and banqueting and conference centre, dedicated entertainment centre with eight food and beverage outlets, and a new pool and leisure complex.

Scheduled for completion during this year, the hotel will be rebranded as Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi, reflecting its new management under Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts - following this, the existing tower will be renovated as part of the overall project, with a final completion date of early 2004.

General manager Francesco Borrello said guests could expect enhanced service levels under the hotel's new management, as well as sample some of the very best hotel dining experiences available in the UAE capital.

"We have the only rooftop revolving restaurant in Abu Dhabi, as well as a fine Italian restaurant and the private yacht, Al Shuja," he said. "In addition, our city centre location on the corniche - with all rooms offering Gulf views - gives guests a wonderful panorama over the city, as well as easy access to all the sites."

According to Borrello, the emirate has often been overlooked but offers a new range of shopping and entertainments that rival the best in the region.

"In the past year there has been a wealth of construction adding a new dimension to Abu Dhabi as a tourism hub, from shopping complexes such as the Marina Mall to the corniche development, various projects at Al Raha beach and marina, and ongoing work at the new heritage park with its gardens and museums and aquarium attractions," he said.
