The Panasonic brand name started appearing in the TV market in 1988 after the company recorded its first production of 100 million units three years earlier. The brand reached a total production of 200 million TV sets in 1998.

Panasonic Marketing Middle East hopes the record-breaking production of 300 million TV sets will contribute towards its aspiration of becoming the number one customer-preferred brand in the region.

We are very confident that our new VIERA and designer series TVs will continue to do well in the Middle East region," adds Panasonic Marketing Middle East Senior Manager for TVs Abby Thomas.
The company recently showcased its prototype 150-inch Life Wall and one-inch ultra-slim, robust neo plasma TVs during the Gitex technology week. The cutting-edge technology demonstrated by Panasonic's next-generation TVs attracted wide interest from visitors.
VIERA is the brand name for Panasonic Corporation's line of LCD and plasma TV sets. Panasonic boasts eco-friendliness as a selling point for its VIERA TVs which are lead-free and consume less power than conventional TVs in the market.
On October 1, 2008, the Matsushita corporate name was changed to 'Panasonic Corporation' with existing brands unified as one name. In the same month, the company reached a production milestone of 300 million TV sets after a long history of delivering quality visual entertainment to people across the world. Of the 300 million units manufactured, 105 million sets belong to the National brand and 195 million to Panasonic's range of TVs.
