GOIC conducts a workshop on identification and selection of new industrial projects in Kuwait

The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) in cooperation with the Public Authority for Industry in the State of Kuwait conducts a Workshop on Identification and Selection of New Industrial Projects, between 10 - 12 November, 2008, in the State of Kuwait.

The workshop aims to develop the capacity of individual entrepreneurs, investment companies and business houses to identify and select potential industrial manufacturing opportunities.

The outline for the workshop will be centered around six key sessions, covered over the course of three days; and the sessions will cover project management overview; sourcing of project ideas; screening of ideas; project appraisal; project selection; and finally a case study.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants are expected to gain a group of skills relating to project life cycle; carrying out a self analysis / appraisal to identify personal or organizational objectives; identifying viable investment opportunities; screening these opportunities based on various techniques; carrying out a project appraisal based on proven techniques; and selecting a project based on feasibility analysis only.

In addition to that, the workshop will handle subjects relating to Self analysis; defining long term objectives; identifying and screening potential industrial investment opportunities; project appraisal and preliminary project studies; project selection; further to an overview of project management.

This workshop comes as part of the series of activities continuously held by GOIC to foster industrial development efforts in GCC member states through strengthening and expanding the manufacturing capabilities and capacities of the region's industry; and in line with its role in facilitating and enhancing the individual and organizational capacities for industrial development.

In its turn, the workshop basically targets the participation of Entrepreneurs; Businessmen; Chief Executive Officers; Business Development Mangers; Investment Advisors; Project Managers; Investment Managers; Consultants; and Industrial promotion Authorities.

It is worth mentioning that GOIC, founded in 1976, targets developing industries throughout GCC by means of providing, both the industrial and economic sectors, with distinctive knowledge, consultancy and technical services. GOIC's mandate is to promote the highest levels of industrial cooperation and collaboration, in both the public and private sectors, by providing a complete set of high-quality, specialized research, information and consultancy services in industrial and economic fields.
