Hesham Ali Mustafa, General Manager of Emirates Gas, said:
"Distributors are our strongest link with our consumers and innovations like the valve changeover cannot be a success without their support. Emirates Gas also pays special attention to sharing ideas with our distributors and listening to their feedback."
In his keynote address, Nader Al Fardan, Marketing Manager of Emirates Gas, remarked:
"LP Gas distribution being a vital lifeline for the consumers in Dubai requires professional competence and total dedication of the distributors and their workforce. We are now planning to introduce several motivational measures including a 'Rewards programme' and also training programmes to improve their skills and competence."
The event provided an ideal platform for the suppliers and distributors to discuss the operational requirements at the bottling plants and distribution centres. A demonstration of the new cylinder valve and regulators recently introduced by Emirates Gas in conjunction with Emarat in the interest of public safety was also held during the meeting. Emirates Gas and Emarat have so far carried out over 120,000 valve conversions in the last 6 months and in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Interior who had issued instructions in this regard.
The new flat-top cylinder valves and regulators offer maximum protection against different kinds of leakages and fire. The short, one-piece valve can withstand high impact and the regulators can be safely and conveniently pushed on to the valve outlet.
"A code of conduct to improve service levels as well as making distributors more responsible in attending to any faults, complaints was discussed in the meeting. This will be implemented shortly making distributors more accountable in delivering quality service or otherwise penal action will be initiated," added Al Fardan.
"Regular meetings with our distributors enable us to reinforce the message of quality, safety and excellence, which are the pillars of our customer service. Hence, these meetings contribute to enhancing our relations with both consumers and suppliers," Mustafa concluded.
