"Although we still do not have the exact final visitor count, I can guarantee you that the foot fall this year has easily exceeded the preceding events. All the hard work and the well-intentioned efforts of the organizers, our supporting organisations and the exhibitors has paid its dividends, and we are very happy with the overall result. The positive feedback confirms that the event has been very well received by the industry professionals, who have especially appreciated the conferences and workshops that we have arranged during the show."
The second and third day of the show featured a series of seminars and workshops that proved to be immensely popular with the attendees. Besides the 'Everybody Loves Sitcoms' workshop organized by Holyywood in Dubai and led by the famous Emmy-nominated Co-Executive Producer of Everybody Loves Raymond series Ellen Sandler, the show offered its visitors access to its two day Internal Conference.
The keynote presentation at the Internal Conference featured Mr. Adonis El Fakih, CEO of Ayna Corporation on how advertisers can optimize online advertising locally and regionally, followed by a presentation by Mr. Husni Khuffash, Country Business Development Manager for Google who spoke on how best to use online advertising and the solid relationship between offline and online advertising. Al Manar TV had their share at the conference speaking about the flow and exchange of information and the delicate relationship between freedom and governing rules.
IPSOS MediaCT, one of the region's leading media research agencies, continued its popular series of workshops targeting media buyers and account planners. The workshops, offered five-times daily, covered the basics of media planning and the measurement of reach for TV and outdoor media. The workshops introduced the attendees to two new software solutions developed by IPSOS - Statex, an advertising expenditure planning tool, and Zplan, a media flight plan development software.
Tarek Sheikh Shabab, Business Development Director, IPSOS MediaCT, said:
"MMS offered us the ideal platform to reach the key media and marketing professionals in the market. As the leading media research company in the region we are breaking new ground every day. We are very pleased to be at the forefront of positive change and development taking place in the regional media industry, and to be aligned with a leading media and marketing event like MMS."
Among the many companies that made use of this tailor-made platform was Logta.com, which used MMS 2008 as the launch pad for its unique consumer-friendly website. Developed as a portal for the web-savvy smart-shopper, Logta.com offers visitors a guide to the dizzying array of deals, promotions and best prices offered by the leading retailers across the UAE, Beirut and Cairo.
The Media and Marketing Show will soon announce the details of the 2009 version to the public. If the 2008 event was any precursor of the sign of things to come, it promises to be a show that will once again reconfirm the fact that MMS is a one-of-a-kind event that will play an increasingly significant role in shaping the future of the media and marketing industry in the region and beyond for many years to come.
