Dubai Municipality has already begun registration of volunteers from community groups, private firms, government departments, schools, universities and individuals for this massive campaign, during which several activities will be held under the banner: "One World, One Eco-System, One Humanity".

This was stated by Hassan Makki, Director of Waste Management Department at the Municipality, while addressing representatives of companies sponsoring the campaign recently which included Al Naboodah Engineering, Al Habtoor Group, Gulf Eternit Industries, Tadweer, Grand Hyatt, Zenath Recycling, British American Tobacco Association, and Union Paper Mills, among others.

He said the "Clean Up the World" campaign which is originally being held in mid-September worldwide with more than 40 million volunteers participating in clean-up initiatives in 109 countries, was delayed in Dubai to suit the weather conditions.

He added that the campaign, which is organised every year by the Municipality, is the largest volunteer clean up drive in the country.
