Global Village, a member of Tatweer Dubai, enthralled the children of Dubai Centre for Special Needs by organising a visit by the popular children's cartoon character Barney.

Barney, the dinosaur character adored by children worldwide, presented gifts to children at the Centre, spreading the joy of his presence.

The visit was arranged just ahead of Barney's arrival at Global Village, the region's pioneering destination for culture, retail and family entertainment, from 12 November, 2008, for 102 days, and was part of Global Village's corporate social responsibility programme.

At Global Village, Barney will delight the children as part of the 'Friends from the Little Big Club Pavilion', which will also host the characters of Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine™, and Pingu.

The 'Friends from the Little Big Club Pavilion' is co-developed by Global Village and HIT Entertainment for this year's seasonal event.

Global Village is anticipated to welcome at least six million visitors during the 102 days of fun and entertainment this season which will run until 21 February, 2009.
