Presentation on insurance law in UAE

Under the sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi Economic Department - the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry in conjunction with Al Tamimi & Company, Advocates & Legal Consultants are holding a special insurance seminar on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 for insurance professionals which will cover topics such as the litigation system in the UAE, liability for personal injury and the rules for determining appropriate compensation as dictated by Sharia (Islamic) law and Court precedent.

Other topics to be covered include the insurance contract and its terms, the insurance contract form and standard clauses and the marine insurance contract and risk coverage thereunder.

Speakers will include top lawyers like Essam Al Tamimi, managing partner of Al Tamimi & Company as well as Mohammed Ak Bik, El-Ameir Mohammed Nour and Yazan Saoudi, also of the same firm.

The seminar will be conducted by Mr. Mohammed Mathhar Hamada, General Manager, Al Ain Ahlia Insurance Company and Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee for Auto Insurance attached to the Emirates Insurance Association and Mr. Kamal Sartawi, Deputy General Manager, Al Dhafra Insurance Company.

Guest will have the opportunity in a general discussion forum to exchange ideas and make their own proposals. This will ensure a rich and interesting deliberation and an all around constructive seminar.
