DIFF Managing Director Shivani Pandya commented:
"The Volunteer program is a key and integral part of DIFF. We have volunteers representing all age groups and nationalities. Their hard work and commitment result in the creation of a great cultural event. They make DIFF feel like a community event, and we could not run the festival without them."

Recruitment will take place on three dates: On Monday November 10th recruitment is open to Emirati national volunteers at the Knowledge Village Auditorium at 18:00.On November 16 and 23 at 18:30 at the same location, recruitment will be open to the non-national general public.

Bob McCarthy, Manager of the DIFF Volunteer Department, said: "Every year volunteers tell us that they have been very satisfied with the whole volunteer experience, from the training, knowledge and guidance they received to participating in the actual event. They enjoyed it so much that many have pursued jobs at the festival—in fact in 2007 41 volunteers from the previous year were hired as staff. With the wide variety of nationalities participating, it truly is an experience that bridges cultures and forges many new and lasting friendships. We're looking for friendly volunteers who like working with the public to do a variety of tasks before and during the festival."

DIFF's landmark fifth edition will run from December 11 to 18, 2008.
