The General de Gaulle of the Arab World

Together with the Charles de Gaulle Foundation and l'Institut du Monde Arab (the Institute of the Arab World), The University of Paris-Sorbonne is organizing a French-Arabic colloquium in Abu Dhabi titled 'The General de Gaulle of the Arab World'.
The opening speech of the symposium will be given by Dominique de Villepin, ex-Prime Minister of France.
Several other important Arab and French figures, among them Hubert Védrine, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pierre Mazaud, President of Foundation Charles de Gaulle and Dominique Baudis, President of the Institut du Monde Arab, will take part in the event. The symposium will examine the relationship between General de Gaulle and the World Arab beginning with his initial stay in Lebanon at the beginning of the 1930's up through his departure in 1969. Closing speeches will be given by Prince Hassan of Jordan and by Yves Guéna, former Minister under General de Gaulle and former President of the Institut du Monde Arab.
