Aswathy Mathew, Event Coordinator at Al Noor said,
"The event was an initiative to engage children with special needs in a creative process in form of an Art Competition. The purpose behind the event was to create awareness about environmental issues among these children. As a result the kids came up with brilliant ideas through their beautiful paintings. A Magic Show was arranged towards the end of the event and goodie bags full of snacks were distributed to the children."
Vinod Talreja, Chief Executive Officer, Babyshop, said: "Children with special needs are as much a part of society as any of us. We are grateful to Al Noor Centre for giving us the opportunity to reach out our message to them and involve them in our campaign. We all need to change for better our relationship with nature and think like environmentalists. Power saving, pollution control, energy saving, recycling, etc are all important steps in tackling environmental issues. No matter how small the effort, every drop counts. Solet us all join hands in leaving a beautiful world for our children."
The interest and sensitivity shown by the kids was simply remarkable.
Hina Bakht, Vice President, MPJ-Marketing Pro-Junction, said, 'Children with special needs should experience art like those without problems. Research shows that it helps to build their confidence and knowledge. Through the UAE, the kids between the ages of 6 and 11 years are taking part in the SAVE WATER campaign. An anticipated 100,000 kids from more than 700 public and private schools will be participating in the contest. And it is only fair that children with special needs are given a chance to be a part of it.'
