LG Car Entertainment and AutoCar Awards prepare to reward excellence in automotive industry

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum, the fifth annual AUTOCAR Middle East Awards are back bigger than ever as the region's top motoring experts decide what will be the best car in 2008. While bringing the cream of the automotive brands under one roof, the awards ceremony will provide the definitive answers, consumer insights and views on some of the highly popular vehicle brands launched this year.

Mr. K.W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company, said that the event will allow consumers around the region to understand the latest trends and innovations in the automotive industry over the past one year. "Through LG Car Entertainment, we have a long association with the world's motoring fraternity, and are delighted to be the sponsor of this prestigious event," he added.

The glamorous event will witness a star-studded guest list from the automotive industry, including dealer principals, regional and international industry professionals, a distinguished panel of professional motoring judges and VIP guests at a black-tie event in Dubai.

An international panel of independent judges will assess 36 finalists short-listed from a database covering every new model released over the previous year from over 12 categories. The panel will rate the vehicles on attributes including practicality, comfort, safety, economy and driving pleasure.

LG will sponsor the 'People Choice Awards' and present 5 awards in the categories of: Best Car, Best Dealership, Best Ownership, Best Motor Insurance Policy and Best Auto Loan.
