Muscat City Centre launches free shuttle service

Visiting Muscat's top shopping destination, Muscat City Centre, is now even easier for the capital's tourists after the launch of a free shuttle bus service.

Guests staying at five star hotels, including the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Radisson SAS can now hop on a new twice-daily complimentary bus service that will take them straight to a special drop off and pick up point at Muscat City Centre.

Ibrahim Al Qassimi, General Manager, Muscat City Centre said:
"We want the tourists coming to Oman to experience all the country has to offer, and shopping features high on the agenda. This complimentary service will make it much easier and more convenient for tourists to visit Oman's first super regional shopping and lifestyle centre."


The new service follows a recent boom in tourism in Oman, with all sectors starting to see the benefits of the government's efforts in repositioning Oman as the ultimate getaway destination.

Muscat City Centre offers the best and widest variety of fashion, together with a dedicated food court complimented by a fine dining restaurant experience. Muscat City Centre is a distinctive shopping paradise for the discerning shopper.

About Muscat City Centre:
Muscat City Centre, first opened in October, 2001, is the biggest and most dominant mall in Oman and recently underwent a 16-month OR22.5m expansion project. The original 33,036 square metres GLA of the Centre has now expanded to a total of 60,484 square metres of GLA, almost doubling the size of the mall and housing a total of 63 new stores since the beginning of 2007.

The Centre currently houses 144 retail outlets, a Carrefour hypermarket, Magic Planet and an international food court with 22 cafes and restaurants. Of the new stores that have been added to the mall, 95 per cent of the brands are making an entry into Oman retail market for the first time including Home Centre, E-Max, Centrepoint, Zara and Borders bookstore. With 42 top new brands, a first-of-its-kind, dedicated flyover and spacious multi-level parking lot, Muscat City Centre is the biggest and most dominant mall in Oman.
