TNT donates Dhs10 to World Food Programme for every shipment sent using morning delivery services

  • United Arab Emirates: Saturday, November 08 - 2008 at 15:20
  • PRESS RELEASE

Between now and January 31st 2009, TNT will donate Dhs10 to the World Food Programme for every shipment that is sent using their morning delivery services.

The initiative which uses TNT's Time Definite services, is designed to raise awareness of the WFP and its School Feeding Programme, will run in 23 countries around the globe.

The Dhs10 donation supporting the WFP's School Feeding Programme will be applied to the 12.00 Express and Economy Express services which guarantee the delivery of all documents, parcels and freight by noon the next day. This means that the shipments will really make a difference to society as well as the customer being served. Since it takes just 20 Euro cents a day for WFP to give one child a regular school meal, one consignment can keep a child nourished for several days.

Bryan Moulds, UAE Country Manager, commented:
"In our day-to-day lives it can be difficult to remember that there are many communities around the world that need our help to access to something as simple and yet as important as food. Our 'Send a Shipment - Make a Difference' campaign allows us to combine our business and social 'sure we can' priorities; delivering on time for our clients and helping organizations like the UN and its World Food Programme make a contribution to those that need it."
