The Customer Forums were conducted in Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Khobar, Kuwait and Bahrain. Representatives from Marriott engaged key clients by updating them on strategies for the market and identifying future opportunities in the region.
During the presentations, Mr. Robinson shared Marriott International's global strategy and articulated the road map for the leisure and intermediary segments. He highlighted how the travel trade can leverage Marriott's e-solutions technology to facilitate Marriott International bookings worldwide. Mr. Robinson spoke about the 'Marriott Mobile' which facilitates hotel bookings on mobile phone and the customization of dedicated web pages by hotels to manage group bookings efficiently.
Outlining the broader sales strategy, Mr. Robinson said:
"Marriott has and will continue to pursue a consistent policy of innovation and thought leadership in the hospitality industry. Our focus is on maintaining the timeless appeal of the brand and in raising the benchmark for excellence. Among the key objectives of the workshops was also to share notes on practices, elicit feedback from our partners and devise a strategic action plan for the intermediaries."
In his comments, Mr. Daqqaq said, "The GCC Road Show demonstrates Marriott's commitment to the region and the importance that we accord to the role of our intermediary partners here."
